As I crossed the marathon’s finish line, I stepped into a realm of new possibilities. In the days that followed the marathon, I started contemplating how my life might evolve if I applied the same level of dedication and discipline required to complete a marathon to every aspect of my life.

It’s challenging to sustain the consistency races require. In the process of training I experimented with tactics which fostered the disciplined, striving to find the path of least resistance. To my surprise the easiest tactic to implement proved to be the most effective. This was rewiring my thought patterns before bed. Adjusting my thoughts to align with my ambitions in order to wire my subconscious before sleeping.

This new practice was sparked when I stumbled across a reel where a guy spoke of this strategy and its importance. As I dove into Google searches on this topic I quickly found this visualization technique is widely embraced; a prominent topic in discussions about manifestation techniques.

Step One: Gratitude

As you lay in bed think through 10 things you are grateful for, three of which have happened within the past 24 hours. Get specific and be creative.

Step Two: Visualizing Tomorrow

I’m discovering visualizing my day ahead before falling asleep helps enormously. As I lay in bed I begin to visualize tomorrow, if my thoughts wander elsewhere I gradually bring them back to the focus on tomorrow and what I hope to accomplish and the plans I have to look forward to. Visualize yourself waking up with ease as that alarm goes off, visualize the first hour of your morning and completing the habits which you’ve set for yourself.

As you begin to incorporate this into your nightly routine, don’t hesitate to tailor the practice to suit your aspirations. Allow it to grow and evolve along with you.

I want to keep this article short because I think it’s an invaluable exercise that truly doesn’t need to be overly complex and that’s the beauty of it.

If you give this a try, I would truly love to hear from you and if you felt this was beneficial.
